SASSA Will Take Services to Fernie Neighborhood
Tuesday, August 27, 2024
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.
SASSA will be rendering companies such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency said it is alarmed in regards to the significant amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The goal from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some high range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This really sassa status check is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The support point made for intervention encounters a high inflow of possible beneficiaries, that makes it tough with the office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more resources to permit the servicing of all customers and raise access to Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
